This type A-2 flight jacket belonged to Nevin G. Kauffman, a ball gunner attached to the 571st squadron of the 390th Bomb Group. On the front of the jacket is the name plate which reads “N.G. Kauffman Ball Gunner”. On the back of the jacket is the name of Kauffman’s aircraft “Cincinnati Queen”. Below the aircraft’s name there are 30 bombs painted for each mission that Kauffman successfully flew. The “Cincinnati Queen” was labeled MIA after a mission on June 21, 1944.
