This type A-2 flight jacket belonged to Kyle N. “Dixie” Anderson, a member of the 570th Squadron attached to the 390th Bomb group. On the front of the jacket is a name plate reading “Dixie Anderson” and the 570th Squadron insignia patch. There are 35 bombs painted on the back of the jacket signifying the 35 missions he completed. There is also one swastika painted on the back signifying a destroyed enemy aircraft. Anderson also served in the Korean and Vietnam wars, amassing a total of 211 completed mission before retiring in 1969.
