Members of the “Liberty Belle” crew received and wore this type A2 leather flight jacket. They painted the 8th Air Force’s logo on the back, as well as the name of their aircraft the “Liberty Belle”, and a bomb for each completed mission. The 8th Air Force logo patch is sewn onto the left sleeve of the jacket. The “Liberty Belle” completed 64 missions before it was salvaged on February 18, 1945 with the designation of war weary.
