As a member of the 21st Bomb Squadron, this A-2 jacket's owner, C.W. Craven, participated in teh Aleutian Islands campaign in Alaska during WWII. Craven piloted B-24 41-23887 when it crashed on take-off at Elmendorf Field, Alaska on February 1st, 1943. Colonel Craven survived the war and became a career US Air Force officer.
